A BRIEF NOTE ON ABOUT OUR ACTIVITIES

Here at Xavier's Foundation, we’re committed to investing our expertise and resources in order to further achieve our cause. Since 1999, we’ve been supporting our community members in a variety of ways and measuring our success not by monetary size, but by more qualitative measurements such as the scale and effectiveness of our efforts. Just imagine what we can achieve together!

Xavier’s Foundation For Social and Educational Development & Research, in short, Xavier’s Foundation is a non-governmental organisation working as an effective instrument for creating social awareness, adopting initiatives for Human Resource Development and acting as an active voluntary organisation taking up socially relevant projects, executing them and maintaining them as well.

Established in 1999 and registered in 2002, the organisation works in collaboration with various regional as well as national organisations in order to facilitate a coordinated effort towards all round development of the society; involving itself in matters of collective interests like promoting peace, harmony, women empowerment, child development, rural economic resurrection and preventing socially undesirable developments. The Vision & Mission Statement of Xavier’s Foundation still holds, and continues to guide our involvements and programmes.

The core strength of the organisation lies in its enthusiastic members of the Central Executive which is guided by a dynamic and well experienced Council of Advisors consisting of some renowned educationists, administrators, professors, scientists, civil-servants, lawyers, journalists and some enterprising and enthusiastic personality. Some members of Xavier’s Foundation are fortunately positioned to go well beyond there organisation/ office compounds and reach out not only to their employees and their families, but also to the community at large.

One of the impressive objectives of this organisation is to harness the latent talent in tandem of the youth and women groups to generate income through self employment by reorienting their focus with modern outlook.

One of the important mandates of the organization is to combine serious research with involvement in the field and encourage other individuals and organisations to do research on issues of relevance to the Northeast in order to understand and highlight the social, cultural, political and economic conditions of the people; to analyse the impact of modernisation; to study the changing trends and scenario of the society, etc. Another mandate of Xavier’s Foundation is to provide a platform for groups of people in conflict to meet and search for solutions in the context of the situation in the Northeast. It also tries to encourage intellectual and futuristic pursuits in the region. It again calls for a scientific understanding of the issues relevant to the Northeast in a professional approach. The organization has also been endeavoring to act as a documentation center in order to facilitate the researchers, students, scholars, groups, activists and others.

To take the nation forward every sector of the economy has a mandate to carry its people forward for which Xavier’s Foundation acts as an catalyst. It believes that every section of the society, including the business community, must share the responsibility in social development of the country. During the two decades, the organisation’s role has been changed from their traditional approach/ initiatives in promotional, developmental, advisory and consultative services to the students, guardians and institutions to more non-traditional initiative in the social sector, thus stretching the horizon even further.
